The Camrose Ground
Rail: Basingstoke Railway Station is about a 30 minute walk. The taxi fare is approximately £5.00

Road: From M3 (simple route): Exit at Junction 7 (A30) and follow the dual carriageway to the mini roundabout and travel straight on. Go up to a large roundabout and take the second exit into Western Way. The ground car park is around 50 yards away on the right. The entrance to the ground is via two turnstiles opposite the Social Club.

Do not take the second exit into Western Way but go straight over the large roundabout and get into the right hand slip lane as you pass the Main Stand on your left. Turn right at the traffic lights (approximately 50 yards) at McDonalds. Follow the road around and park your car. Walk back over the pedestrian crossing and into the ground's Winchester Road gate to the left of the main stand. Entrance to the ground is via two turnstiles opposite the social club.

From M3 (via roundabouts): Exit at Junction 6 and get into the left hand lane towards a large roundabout. Take the first exit (A30) and follow the dual carriageway to the next roundabout and go straight across (A30). At the next roundabout, take the first exit (A30) and go past the traffic lights (as you drive up the carriageway you'll see the ground on the right). At the next roundabout, take the fifth exit into Western Way. The ground car park is 50 yards away on the right. Entrance to the ground is via two turnstiles opposite the social club.

From the roundabout take the first exit (A30) and keep in the left hand lane up to the traffic lights. Turn left at the traffic lights (McDonalds is on the corner) and follow the road round to the car park. Park your car, walk back over the pedestrian crossing and into the ground's Winchester Road gate to the left (as you face it) of the main stand. Entrance to the ground is via two turnstiles opposite the Social Club.

From M4: Exit at Junction 11 (A33) to Basingstoke. Take the dual carriageway to a small roundabout. Go over the roundabout and carry on the dual carriageway for about eight miles, to another small roundabout. Go over this roundabout onto the single carriageway. Go over two more small roundabouts and follow the dual carriageway to a large roundabout and take the third exit. Follow the dual carriageway (under the railway bridge) and up to the next roundabout (with Red Wavy Men on it) and take the first exit. Go up to the large (ringroad) roundabout and take the second exit (signposted M3) onto the dual carriageway ring road (stay right) and carry on up to the next roundabout. At this roundabout, take the third exit (A30) and follow the dual carriageway onto the next roundabout and go straight across (A30). At the next roundabout take the first exit (A30) (as you drive up the carriageway you'll see the ground and Main Stand on the right). At the next roundabout take the fifth exit into Western Way and the ground car park is 50 yards away on the right. Entrance to the ground is via two turnstiles opposite the social club.

From Newbury A339: Follow the single carriageway as you enter Basingstoke and go straight across the mini roundabout. Follow the dual carriageway up to a large roundabout and take the second exit (A30) up to the next roundabout and go straight across (A30) and then onto the next roundabout. Take the third exit (A30). As you drive up the carriageway, you'll see the ground on the right. At the next roundabout, take the fifth exit into Western Way and the ground car park is 50 yards away on the right. The entrance to the ground is via two turnstiles opposite the Social Club.

General Information:

The Camrose ground has three part covered sides, a covered disabled area and a Main Seated Stand. Toilets are situated behind the Main Stand. The Club Shop - for Souvenirs etc. is outside the ground to the right of the Main Stand. The Supporters Club Shop is inside the ground at the turnstile end. There are usually 2 food outlet facilities open in the ground.

A pleasant little ground that was above average for the Ryman Premier. A single small main stand on one side, with some covered terracing beside and covered terracing opposite. Both ends behind the goals are uncovered terracing. The floodlights are of the type where you have 4 pylons alongside the pitch on each side of the ground. You also get a decent view of the ground from the McDonalds car park on the hill that overlooks the ground.

A Supporters View:

Basingstoke's ground is about a 25 minute walk from the railway station but is pretty easy once you get on the road it's situated on as this road goes by the ground. Across the street there are a load of shops which are part of a out-of-town complex.
Nothing interesting, just the usual boring stores including the tossers JJB who despite having a team opposite their shop they will not sell or even display one of our shirts. Their is a Macdonald's across the street plus a another fast food outlet on the car parks far side. Their is a chip shop plus a pub as you walk to the ground from the town.
Our clubhouse is one of the best with 2 pool tables and sell all the usual beers at cheaper rates than normal.
Basingstoke record attendance is 5,000 for 1st rd replay v Wycombe, 97 F.A Cup.
We won on penalty's after 2-2 in both games.
The main stand at Basingstoke holds about 500, the rest of the ground is terraced with cover at one end.
Our attendance's are crap. The apathy of people from Basingstoke is tremendous.
When we beat Wycombe our next home game was in the F.A Trophy ten days later. We went from 5,000 to about 300.
12 years ago when our team was worse than we have now we were getting 600.
