Stroud, then on meeting A46, follow signs for ‘Bath, Nailsworth A46’. After 2-3
miles you’ll pass the Crown Inn on the RHS, then a petrol station on the
left-hand side. In the centre of Nailsworth there’s one mini-roundabout; turn
right into Spring Hill. Go up hill and continue along this road, which becomes
Nympsfield Road, for approx 900 yards. The ground is on the left-hand side at
the new roundabout.
From the South (M5): Leave M5 at Junction 14, s/p B4509. Follow B4509 towards
Wotton-under-Edge, turning left onto B4058. Follow this road through Wotton,
then follow signs for Nailsworth. On meeting A4135 turn right, then left very
shortly afterwards, remaining on B4058. On reaching Nailsworth, turn left at
mini-roundabout in centre of town, up Spring Hill, then follow directions as
from North.
From the East (M4): Leave M4 at Junction 18, follow A46 directly to Nailsworth
and at mini-roundabout turn left up Spring Hill, then directions as from North.
FROM RAILWAY STATION (Stroud): Trains: Run to Gloucester and Swindon. Change at
Gloucester for Bristol and the South-West, South Wales, Birmingham and the
North. Change at Swindon for Reading, London (Paddington), plus Bristol and the
South-West.
On foot:It’s at least four miles from Stroud Town centre. By taxi: Around £6-7,
journey time 10-15 mins.
By bus: Bus 93, run by Stagecoach Stroud Valleys, runs from Stroud Bus Station
(5 minutes’ walk from the railway station, through the Merrywalks shopping
centre) to Nailsworth and Forest Green at 30 minute intervals. Call Stagecoach
on (01453) 763 421 for further information. Note: you may need a taxi back to
Stroud after a midweek match.
PARKING There are three seperate car parking areas at the new stadium which can
cater for 250+ cars. Should there be a need for extra parking then there is
plenty of on street parking in close proximity to the ground.
Alternatively, you can park for free in Nailsworth town centre and catch a bus
or walk up the hill (not a good idea unless you are used to extreme exercise!).

General Information:
The New Lawn is a football stadium and home to Forest Green
Rovers F.C., a professional football club based in the town of Nailsworth in
Gloucestershire. They play their football in the Conference National and
previously played their home matches at The Lawn Ground. The name of the new
stadium is yet to be confirmed, as the club are still looking for a stadium
sponsor. Rovers have played at the stadium since the start of the 2006-07
season. Forest Green Rovers' new stadium was due to cost the club £3 million
pounds and was approved in October 2003 by local council members, despite much
local opposition due to the controversial siting of the development on school
playing fields.[1] Work started on the stadium on the 3 May 2005. The new ground
has facilities to house 230 car parking places, 3 coach parking places, a
capacity of 5,147 and two seated stands - the main stand and another seated
stand. The stadium also has a leisure club, gym, sauna, conference and meeting
facilities as well as a pub and many other facilities. The stadium is used seven
days a week for different events as part of the Five Valleys Conference &
Leisure Centre.
The stadium was first used in a pre season friendly against Swindon Town in July
2006 and was officially opened in September 2006 when the England C team played
a friendly fixture against Forest Green. The largest attendance so far at The
New Lawn was in a FA Cup third round game against Derby County in January 2009
when 4836 watched Forest Green narrowly lose 3-4. For the 2007-08 season
Gloucester City shared the ground due to serious flooding at their home ground
but have since moved to Cirencester Town. In April 2009 The New Lawn hosted the
Conference League Cup final between Forest Green and AFC Telford United in which
Telford won the game 0-3 on penalty kicks following the 90 minutes finishing
goalless. The match was shown live on Setanta Sports. In December 2009 the
ground was selected as part of the city of Bristol's 2018 Fifa World Cup bid to
act as a training ground facility.

A Fans View:
Away fans are housed in the EESI Stand at one end
of the ground. This stand is covered and all seated and up to 500 supporters can
be accommodated. If a larger away following is expected the the open Barnfield
Terrace at one side of the pitch can be allocated instead. My visits to The Lawn
have been most enjoyable it would be difficult to find a more friendly and
welcoming club than this one. In comparison the club is not one of the biggest,
but can regularly boast of crowds between 800 to 1,100. If the chance arises, a
visit to this Gloucestershire ground is a pleasant days outing in a unique
setting. The Club offer the following food choices; Cheeseburger (£2.70),Burger
(£2.50), Large Hot Dog (£2.50), Small Hot Dog (£1.50), Chips (£1.50), Chips with
Curry Sauce (£2), Pukka Pies (£2.20) and Pasties (£1.80).
